Approach
The body and mind possess an inherent drive toward healing, flourishing when nurtured by the right environment. Similarly, creating a safe space to unburden oneself, to truly voice thoughts and feelings, can be profoundly transformative, lifting the heavy weight of shame, guilt, fear, and pain.
I view emotions as dynamic energy, naturally seeking expression. In our work together, I encourage you to bring your whole self, fostering an environment of kindness and compassion towards yourself. I deeply believe in each person's innate wisdom to understand their own healing journey, and I see my role as a guide in helping you connect with that inner knowing. While I am not a blank slate and may occasionally share my own emotions authentically within the session, please know that our focus will always remain on your experience and your needs
Holding a trauma-informed and culturally competent space, my existentialist foundation recognizes your inherent freedom and responsibility in creating meaning. I utilize body-based approaches that prioritize nervous system well-being, drawing from polyvagal theory and the empowering principles of Internal Family Systems. EMDR is a powerful tool I employ to help you process and integrate past trauma, moving it from the mid-brain for cognitive understanding, which can profoundly shift your experience of present safety. Mindful tools are also offered and integrated collaboratively, respecting your individual pace and preferences.
